Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks reach the one-million-kilometre mark – without CO2 emissions!

  • The world’s first fleet of standard hydrogen electric commercial vehicles reached the one-million-kilometre mark at the beginning of July!

  • Compared to a diesel truck, this corresponds to a saving of 631 tonnes of CO2.

  • Behind this is a Swiss pioneering project with a hydrogen-electric ecosystem that is unique in the world, which celebrated its roll-out in St. Gallen just under a year ago.

  • By 2025, the number of Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks is planned to increase from 46 today to 1,600.

  • In parallel, the hydrogen filling station network in Switzerland is growing. After Hunzenschwil, seven more H2 filling stations went into operation in Switzerland in the past 12 months.

  • What all hydrogen filling stations and hydrogen-electric commercial vehicles have in common is the exclusive use of green hydrogen, produced from 100% renewable energy sources.
